These terms cover illustro.tech: the tests, the free results, the full report, and the partner comparison. Using the site means accepting them. Last updated 25 August 2026.

Who you are dealing with

illustro is a trading name of Jakes Creates Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16971656). Registered office: 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE.

Everything in these terms goes to one address: support@illustro.tech.

What illustro is, and what it is not

The personality type test is a 36-question Big Five instrument built from public-domain research items. It scores five traits, compares them with a published research sample, and names the pattern as one of sixteen types. Every item, its source, and every calculation behind your numbers is set out on the methodology page.

It is a test you take because you are curious about yourself. Results are indicative only. This is not a clinical assessment, it diagnoses nothing, and it is not medical, psychological, legal, financial or employment advice. A result describes how you answered 36 statements on one day. It is not a measurement of what you are capable of.

Taking a test

Tests are free, and there is no account to make.

Your answers are scored in your browser. They are never sent to us, so the only copy of your result is the one your browser keeps. We promise your result stays available on that device for at least three days, and in practice it stays longer, because nothing we run deletes it. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it, and we cannot get it back for you.

If you ask us to email you your summary, that email carries a permanent link to your result. That link is the copy that does not depend on your browser.

You need to be at least 13 to take a test. If you are under 18, ask whoever is responsible for you before buying anything.

What is free and what is paid

Three things, and the words never move between them.

• Your result is free, on screen: your type, the paragraph that explains it, your five trait scores, and how common the pattern is.
• Your summary is free, by email, if you ask for it. It repeats your result and carries the permanent link.
• The full report is paid, and it is only ever paid.

Buying the full report

The price is on screen before you tap anything. For our initial UK launch, the full report costs £9.99 as a one-time payment. Jakes Creates Ltd is not VAT-registered and does not charge VAT. An optional partner comparison costs an additional £5; your total is shown before you pay.

One-time payment. No subscription, no trial, and nothing renews.

Payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers. The charge appears on your statement as ILLUSTRO.TECH.

The report unlocks on the page as soon as the payment clears, which is usually within a minute, and you can download it as a PDF from that page as many times as you like.

Changing your mind

Fifteen days, no questions asked. Email support@illustro.tech and the money goes back to the card that paid. How to ask, and what happens after you do, is set out on the refunds page.

Refunding the whole purchase locks the report again. Anything you downloaded before that is yours to keep.

Nothing here takes away the rights consumer law gives you.

The partner comparison

At checkout you can add a partner comparison for £5. It is priced per pair and not per person: you pay once, and the person you invite pays nothing.

• Buying it creates an invite link. You send that link yourself. We never email the person you invite, and we never contact them on your say-so.
• They take the test free, and they see what will be shared before they agree to anything.
• The comparison opens only when both of you have finished. Until then neither side sees the other's numbers.
• What is shared is five trait percentiles and a type name, both ways. Not your answers, not your address, and nothing else.
• You can remove the person you invited from your own comparison and start again with a new link.
• If they never finish, the £5 comes back. The refunds page sets out how, and the window it runs in.

What you may do with the report

The report is yours. Read it, save it, print it, and show it to anyone you like.

What you may not do is resell it, republish it as your own work, or use it as the content of a product that sells the same thing back.

And one thing that matters more than the rest: do not use a result, yours or anybody else's, to make a decision about a person. Not employment, not tenancy, not insurance, not treatment, and not admission to anything. The test is not built for that and it is not fit for it.

Using the site fairly

Do not scrape the site, submit answers in bulk from a script, try to unlock a report you have not paid for, or open a result link that was not sent to you. We can close off access where any of that is happening.

Availability

We may change a test, change a price, or take something off the site. We do not promise the site is always available, and we do not promise it is free of faults, though we would like to hear about any you find.

A price change never applies backwards to something you have already bought.

Where our responsibility ends

We are responsible for loss we cause you by breaking these terms or by failing to use reasonable care.

We are not responsible for what anyone does on the strength of a result. Decisions about your work, your relationships, your health and your money are yours to make, and a 36-question test is not a basis for any of them.

Where we are liable, and where the law allows liability to be limited, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

How we handle your data

Separately, and in more detail than these terms allow: see the privacy policy. The short version is that your answers are scored on your device and never sent to us.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the product changes, and the date at the top says when. A change never applies backwards to a purchase already made.

Law, and where a dispute is heard

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
